Two friends from college – one a biomedical engineer and the other a dentist – would often muse on working together, but their jobs only left time for theoretical explorations. That changed one day when the engineer asked the dentist to help devise a concept that would provide a useful learning project for students in the university course he was teaching. Together, they created a critical concept but recognized that its implementation was still in its infancy.<\/p>\n

In early 2020, their lives got turned upside down, much like everyone else\u2019s during the Covid-19 pandemic. The dentist often awoke from nightmares about going to work with the dangers looming over his profession and the engineer lost a lot of work due to the shutdown of manufacturing and design businesses. They started to take their project even more seriously. because their well-being and professional survival, like that of many others, was at risk.<\/p>\n

Our circumstances and expertise led to the invention of the Aerosol Assist. We determined that our concept of total minimization of aerosols is one that must be employed by every chair in every dental office. Otherwise, it is like when one person does not wear a mask and puts everyone else in danger. Although our path was paved with many obstacles, our drive to provide a safe solution to a grave health risk prevailed. We ask you now to join us and become part of our story. Dr. Vigarny A. Arguello Jr. has been practicing dentistry since 2009. Coming from a family with strong roots in medicine, Dr. Arguello naturally gravitated towards this industry. He graduated from Florida International University with a major in chemistry and a minor in biochemistry and then Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Arguello currently practices in one of his practices in South Florida and has a genuine interest in everything with dentistry ranging from treating patients, continuing education, photography and product development. His goal as a dentist is to help patients who have negative dental habits and change them into positive ones, as well as to help everyone achieve good oral health. Werner Blumenthal is a biomedical engineer living in Miami, drawing inspiration from life and its challenges. Since childhood, Werner has been interested in adventure, designing, and creating. From building ramps in friends' backyards, to rubber band powered bottle cap shooters he has always enjoyed the freedom creating brings with it. Coming from a family of engineers, Werner naturally gravitated towards this industry\u2026 but has a special interest in the medical field. After graduating as a Biomedical Engineer at FIU, he was introduced to the world of medical device design and manufacturing as a young engineer fresh out of college. This insight in medical device manufacturing sparked a passion which led him to discover 3D printing and all of its amazing benefits. This is when Werner founded WB Engineering, and was joined by his father to help bleeding edge technology companies design and launch their products to market.
